Kmart fans have been left divided over the retailer's $15 new mini kettle and single toaster, with some saying it's "absolutely useless", while some love it. Taking to Instagram to show off the latest items, Kmart wrote, "Our new mini kettle and single toaster are the perfect addition to cute and cosy kitchens, $15 each."

Some were surprised you could buy a toaster that only toasts one piece of bread at a time, with one user writing, "[Kmart] who would only eat one toast at a time?"

"Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should," another joked.

"Who only has one slice of toast? 😂," a third questioned.

"Absolutely useless," another said, while someone else added that it was "so pointless".

Others were quick to point out the products' many uses, however, with one person writing, "A lot of people only have 1 piece [of toast] at a time. This is also great for people travelling in a van and can only have small things. And I also think it’s great for little kids kitchens, practical kid kitchens have been becoming more popular and I think this is awesome for that."

"Great for elderly who can't lift heavy kettles," another said.

"My thoughts exactly. Everyone so quick to dismiss, but have seen first hand how great these mini frypans and kettles are for older people who physically can no longer lift full size ones but still want the independence of being able to make themselves a cup of tea or cook a small meal," a third added.

"For the single and loving it girl!!!" someone else wrote.

"So great for a single person in a tiny apartment with minimal space! But you want it to be cute," another said.

Others pointed out that it would be helpful for people who can't eat gluten and have to share appliances with others who can.

Kmart has a lot of mini items, including a mini rice cooker, waffle maker, saucepan, air fryer and more, ranging from around $6-39.
