Kmart shopper left furious over product flaw: 'Seriously?'

A woman's DIY day was ruined after she noticed something seriously wrong with her roll of wallpaper.

A Kmart shopper has been left seething after she noticed an issue with an item she had bought from the budget retailer while she was in the middle of using it. However, many people have rushed to the store's defence, saying it's a manufacturing problem.

The woman took to the popular Facebook group Kmart Hacks & Decor to vent about her purchase, uploading a snap of a roll of textured wallpaper with what appears to be stitching holding it together.

“Seriously Kmart, wt… actually! In the middle of wallpapering and find this in the middle of the roll,” she wrote.

Commenters were left shocked, with one person writing: “Take it back and get your money back”.

“Love Kmart but when I buy I’m always thinking you pay for what you get,” another person said.

Others were adamant that the design flaw is actually not Kmart’s fault and that it was down to the manufacturer.

“This happened to me with expensive wallpaper from an exclusive supplier. Just take it back,” a commenter said.

“Happens to me with bolts of fabric… you think it’s one continuous roll but nope, just luck of the draw sometimes,” another person wrote.

“I work at Spotlight and this kinda thing occasionally happens with fabrics by the meter, you should easily be able to return/exchange as faulty. Otherwise I just suggest you cut that strip out,” one person wrote.

It comes after a Kmart hack received some brutal backlash online. The video, posted to the official Kmart Instagram account, showed a DIY influencer taking the $39 Stackable Stool from the budget retailer and transforming it into a fluffy, social-media-worthy piece of furniture.

However, Kmart fans blasted the video online, with one person calling it a “waste of time”.
