Kmart masterclass: $7 laundry soaking hack keeps hands dry
Kmart has yet again delivered the goods in the fourth and final virtual Masterclass Thursday night which focussed on ‘Storage Solutions’ around the home.
While the whole Masterclass was teeming with tips, it was Kmart storage buyer Jess Roche’s laundry soaking hack that made us really sit up and listen.
Jess demonstrated how she uses a $7 white storage tub with holes (the ‘Design Tub with Lid’ in Medium to be precise) as a makeshift colander to drain the clothing post-soak and keep her hands out of the yucky water.
To make the ‘double-tub combo’ work you’ll need to first make sure that the white tub with holes fits inside your regular soaking tub (Jess used the $10 Stackable Container with Lid in Large) and that the stained clothes go in last, after the tubs are nestled together.

Once the clothes have had their soak, lift the white tub with holes out of the larger tub by the handles and allow the grimy water to drain away.
Elsewhere in the Masterclass, Jess gave a shoutout to the Kmart Mums Facebook group for inspiring a storage hack involving the $8 shelf dividers, which were used on top of a wardrobe to keep handbags on display.
All the nifty storage products are ready to shop in-store and online.
If you missed the first Masterclass of the series, titled ‘Room Refresh,’ you can check out all the gorgeous homewares from the August Living range that are available to shop right now.
