To me, Christmas Day just isn't complete without a full belly, a cup of tea (or a Christmas cocktail!), and The Holiday on TV to wrap up the festive season. If you're somehow not familiar with the film (now's the perfect time to catch up if you're not!), it's about two women, one from LA (Cameron Diaz) and one from Surrey (Kate Winslet), who decide to switch houses for two weeks at Christmas, hoping they will forget their troubled love lives, but love soon finds them when they least expect it.

Director and writer Nancy Meyers just has a knack for creating films that feel like a big hug – think The Parent Trap, Father of the Bride, It's Complicated and The Intern. Nancy is also known for creating the most stunning homes in her films, and The Holiday is no exception. The two houses that Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet's characters Amanda and Iris live in almost become characters in the movie, and fans have always loved them.

But Jude Law, who stars as Amanda's love interest and Iris' brother Graham, has ruined the fantasy of the charming little cottage that Iris lives in. The cottage, which is perfectly imperfect in its design, features wooden beams, an open fire, a shabby country kitchen, hundreds of books and a beautiful big bathtub. It really is just the most gorgeous setting for the English half of the film.

Almost 20 (!!) years after its release, Jude has revealed that the house isn't real!

During an appearance on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, Jude spoke about the film, saying, "I mean, I find it just, honestly, glorious."

"Can you Airbnb that cottage?" guest Kerry Godliman asks him, and it's then that Jude breaks our hearts with four little words, with the star replying, "That cottage doesn't exist."

The host and guests were flabbergasted by this revelation, all asking the same question: "What?"

"That's my dream home!" one adds.

"Ooh yeah," Jude responds with a smile. "So, the director [Nancy], she's a bit of a perfectionist – toured that whole area and didn't quite find the chocolate box cottage she was looking for. So she just hired a field and drew [what she wanted] and had someone build it.

"But here's the funny thing, if you watch it, so, we were shooting it in the winter here and every time I'd go in that door, we cut, and we shot the interiors in LA, about three months later."

"Oh no, no! Please stop," Kerry exclaims, clearly upset by the news.

"We don't want to hear any more!" host Zoe says. "We can't bear it!"

"That's really upsetting," Kerry adds.

"Just burst the bubble," Jude says with a smile. "Sorry!"

The Holiday fans were quick to share their heartbreak over the revelation, with one user writing on TikTok, "I could have lived my whole life without knowing that."

"There are just some things that I don't want or need to know!" another agreed.

"That's my dream cottage!" a third exclaimed. "Jude Law just broke my heart! I didn't think that was possible."

"I still watch The Holiday and enjoy every second," someone else said. "In my brain, Jude Law's comments do not exist."

"But it was inspired by Honeysuckle Cottage in Surrey, so you could rent it and pretend," another said.

"He genuinely looks like he feels bad at the end," another said.

"Nooooo, I can't watch it the same way now," one fan added.

"THIS IS DEVASTATING," a passionate fan exclaimed, with another saying, "I just wanna scream."

"It doesn't matter," someone else wrote. "He was perfection in this movie."

We would have to agree!
