I'm A Celebrity's Aesha Scott spills on surprising relationship with John Mayer

Below Deck star Aesha Scott has opened up about her surprising encounter with singer-songwriter John Mayer while filming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

In Yahoo Lifestyle’s exclusive preview of Tuesday night’s episode, the TV personality spoke with radio host Woody Whitelaw about what it’s like having other celebrities know who she is thanks to the hit Bravo series.

She revealed that she found out John Mayer had watched all of her seasons of Below Deck a few months after they appeared together on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live in July last year.

“I was very touched by that!” she gushed.

Woody then asked Aesha, who has been dating her partner Scott Dobson since 2020, if she thought the Your Body Is a Wonderland hitmaker was being “a bit flirty” with her.

“I don’t think he was being overly flirty,” she said. “He was just being nice.”

“I think he was keen, Aesha,” Woody replied. “I think he might have been a little bit keen. He’s watched all of your episodes of Below Deck and then he has asked about you for months after that.

“I’ve got a feeling John Mayer is still pretty keen! I know you’re a taken woman, but you should steer clear of John Mayer.”

How much are this year's I'm A Celebrity stars paid?

This year’s I’m A Celebrity contestants’ salaries leaked online earlier this month, with Daily Mail reporting that TV royalty Kerri-Anne Kennerley was paid a whopping $180,000 to finally join the cast after being asked to compete every year previously.

Comedian Peter Helliar is said to be earning $90,000 for his appearance, closely followed by former Australian Idol judge Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson who is reportedly being paid $80,000.

Some of the less high-profile celebrities are earning a smaller wage of $50,000, including MAFS star Domenica Calarco, radio host Woody Whitelaw and AFL player Adam Cooney.

Meanwhile, a source recently told Yahoo Lifestyle that former footballer and season six Bachelor Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins is this year’s highest-paid star.

“His deal is thought to be worth around $250,000 to $300,000, making him one of the highest-paid campmates this year,” the insider told us.

“It’s a little less than the $500,000 that he was paid for The Bachelor, but this is a shorter production with less demands and rules. It’ll all be done in a few weeks, unlike The Bachelor, where he had to put his life on hold for six months.”
