It's thankfully only two short weeks until Home and Away is back on our screens for another year. But if you have a Summer Bay-shaped hole in your heart right now, the popular soap has launched an Instagram series with actress Emily Weir interviewing her fellow cast mates about their characters.

In the first episode titled 'A Touch of Salt with Emily Weir', Emily (who plays Mackenzie Booth) sat down with Ally Harris (Dana Matheson) to touch on Dana's antics in the Bay and what being on Home and Away has taught Ally about herself.

Kicking things off on a light-hearted note, Emily asked Ally who Dana would have a crush on if it weren't for Xander. "I'm not saying this to flatter you, I'm not," Ally said. "But Mackenzie is a very sexy woman."

Opening up more, Ally talked about what being on the popular soap had taught her about herself.

"This job has been a great place to practice stuff I already knew about myself that I am trying to get better at," Ally said. "I'm not an incredibly direct person, this job has really taught me when to respectfully stand up for myself, to articulate boundaries on set with colleagues and things like that, and I never really did that before."

Home and Away fans flooded the comments asking for more interview episodes while they await the return of the show in mid-January 2025.

"Omg I miss you girls, cannot wait 'til Home and Away starts back up again!! I've watched it every night, my entire life!!" one dedicated fan said.

"I love this! Such good chemistry between two strong women," someone else commented. "Omg love this. We need a lot more episodes," another person enthused.

"Brilliant, so cool to see 'real' conversations and behind the scenes of Home and Away," one fan said, while another commented, "You both are beautiful actresses and this was so good to do. Can’t wait until the first episode to come in on 2025."

Warning! Spoilers ahead!

Home and Away fans were left less than impressed with the 2024 season finale, which was all relatively tame until the last couple of minutes of drama, which saw Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) crouched over a bloodied and possibly dead Tim (George Pullar).

While it looked like Cash was caught, literally, red-handed after harassing Eden (Stephanie Panazzo) and Tim for weeks about their relationship, viewers at home know that Cash had originally gone to find his ex Eden who was at a secluded resort with Tim and the rest of the band Lyrik, to warn her that Tim's ex-client Nerida was on the rampage and out for revenge after saying she had once been in a relationship with Tim.

So did Cash kill Tim? Is Tim even dead? What was Nerida's role in the dramatic last scenes of Home and Away 2024? All of this is expected to be answered fairly soon in January, but there are a few key things we already know.

Firstly, Nicholas Cartwright has been spotted filming 2025 scenes in his police uniform, so it's safe to say Cash won't be behind bars for murder or assault. It also appears Cash is busy arresting a whole bunch of new River Boys, so we can expect a whole lot more bad boy drama in 2025.
