Subtle detail spotted in Home and Away episode: 'Never knew'

Home and Away fans have been busy watching ‘classic episodes’ on 7Plus in Australia due to the show’s summer hiatus. While new episodes won’t return until January 9 next year, viewers have been able to get their fix of Summer Bay by strolling down memory lane.

Eagle-eyed viewers have already spotted Kirsty Marillier, who now plays Rose Delaney, as a guest character attending Brodie Morgan (Jackson Heywood) and Ziggy Astoni’s (Sophie Dillman) wedding in 2018. Now, another fan has shared an interesting detail from an episode from 2004.

Ada Nicodemou has been playing fan-favourite Leah Patterson since March 2000 and is one of the show’s longest-serving characters.

One viewer pointed out in a Facebook group that Ada looked slightly different while acting as a surrogate for Sally Fletcher (Kate Ritchie) and Flynn Saunders (Joel McIlroy).

“When Leah gave birth [to] baby Pippa (Sally and Flynn’s daughter), I never noticed and never knew Leah had braces on her teeth. Thought [only] teenagers/kids have braces on their teeth,” the viewer revealed.

“I started watching the soap in 2006 and didn’t see her with them on then.”

Other people pointed out that adults can get braces, and a number claimed they remembered it happening on the show.

“A lot of adults are getting braces. But I remember Ada/Leah having them. They usually have them on for two years depending how well it’s going,” one person pointed out.

“I think she had them for a while lol,” added a second.

“I remember when she had braces,” another wrote.

One fan was surprised by the fact that Leah acted as a surrogate, while another chose to reminisce about their favourite storylines.

“Omgosh so Leah was a surrogate for Flynn and Sally? Aw I totally didn’t remember that lol,” a viewer wrote.

“I just watched the hold up at Ailsa’s cafe. The baddie was Lucas [Fitzgerald] the garage owner from Neighbours,” another added.
