Hidden detail in Prince George's new birthday portrait melts royal fans: 'Choked up'

In celebration of Prince George's 11th birthday, his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, shared a sweet portrait of their eldest son, with fans spotting a very sweet hidden detail in the snap. In the black and white photo, Prince George wears a black suit with a white shirt and looks very grown up.

"Wishing Prince George a very happy 11th birthday today!" Kensington Palace wrote on X alongside the snap, which was taken by the Princess of Wales.

But fans were quick to spot that the young royal was wearing a friendship bracelet that looks identical to the one Princess Charlotte was wearing when she attended Wimbledon with her mum on July 14. Some royal fans believed the bracelets were from when the siblings attended the Taylor Swift concert last month.

When fans spotted Charlotte's bracelets earlier this month, fans labelled her as the "ultimate Swiftie".

Others also assumed the bracelet could have been a gift from Charlotte to her brother.

"Wow. He looks so handsome. I’m choked up! And I assume that’s a friendship bracelet from his little sister," one X user wrote. "Happy Birthday Prince George! Wishing you all the best!!"

Interestingly, King Charles also wears a similar bracelet, with one X user saying of the trio, "Awwww I love this. ♥️ all their hearts are connected."

"That's sweet. I wonder if Princess Charlotte made them all," another added.

"The kids or Charlotte probably made them for the family. Lovely to see them wearing them ❤️," a third said.

Others suggested the bracelet is a Martis bracelet that the people of Greece wear in March to signify the beginning of spring. Wearing the bracelet dates back to Ancient Greece, and it is believed to stop the skin from burning in the warmer sun.

Many fans were surprised at how grown up George looks in the portrait and shared well wishes for George on this birthday, with one fan writing, "How handsome he is .. growing up to be such a lovely young man! Happy Birthday 🥳💙🎂❤️ Prince George! And another brilliant photo taken by his mama!"
