Kate Middleton's awkward first date blunder with Prince William
The Princess of Wales revealed she made an awkward move on her first date with the Prince of Wales: "I went bright red."
Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton first started dating in September 2001, but it turns out royals are just like us when it comes to dating and things can be very awkward. The Prince and Princess of Wales first met when they were both studying at St Andrews University in the early 2000s, they lived in the same dorms in their first year and then moved to a share house in the second year.
It was during this time that sparks began to fly between the pair, with Kate previously speaking about the first time she met William, saying, "I actually think I went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off, feeling very shy."
William also shared that he knew there was something "special" about his future wife and added, "When I first met Kate, I knew there was something very special about her. I knew there was possibly something that I wanted to explore there."
The future King tried to impress Kate by cooking "fancy" dinners in their share house, but it didn't always end well.

He told the Press Association, "[But] what would happen was I would burn something, something would overspill, something would catch on fire. She would be sitting in the background trying to help and basically taking control of the whole situation."
Heart Radio has reported that the pair's first official date started with a bit of a disaster – apparently, Kate attempted to curtsy to William as a joke but instead ended up falling over, making William spill a drink on himself in the process.
However, William was obviously charmed by the date and would later propose to Kate in 2010. They married in 2011 at Westminster Abbey and are now parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

According to Us Weekly, a palace source says William and Kate are "in awe of each other".
"William used to be quite awkward about showing too much affection, but Kate’s helped him relax. They’re in awe of each other. William tells anyone who will listen that he couldn’t do it without Kate, and she echoes that right back," they said.
