Yellowstone Finale Recap: Who Got the Ranch and Who Just Bought the Farm in the Series' Swan Song?
MOTHER RAQUELLA ‘RETURNS’
Sister Lila’s “awakening” was a quite rude one, it turns out, so Tula recruited Sister Jen to help soothe her secretly resurrected classmate. But once Lila calmed down, it became clear that she now was in fact channeling one of her ancestors — Raquella. The late Mother Superior quickly got to work in Tula’s classroom, processing tissue samples to determine that the shared “nightmare” that the acolytes were having was caused by an airborne virus.
THE OTHER WOMAN
Sister Francesca (played by Tabu) paid her son Constantine — and his father — a visit, visibly irking Empress Natalya. Francesca’s trip to Salusa Secundas proved doubly fruitful: she convinced Javicco to put Constantine in charge of the royal fleet, and she also reignited the spark between her and the Emperor.
BOMBS AWAY
In the wake of last week’s High Council meeting, Harrow sought forgiveness from Emperor Corrino by sharing with Desmond Hart intel on the Sisterhood’s possible alliance with the rebellion. That led Desmond and a few henchmen to the underground markets, unaware that Mikaela (with Keiran’s help) had rigged the place to blow. Alas, just as Mikaela and Keiran fled her speakeasy and triggered the explosions, Desmond activated his Holtzman shield, protecting him from the blasts. In the immediate aftermath, Kieran confronted Mikaela about being a member of the Sisterhood — as revealed by her brandishing of a tell-tale blade during their escape from Desmond’s goons — and said he never wanted to see her again. Later, Kieran was arrested for treason, after Constantine found in his locker evidence of spycraft.
THE HART OF THE MATTER
Remember how last week at the High Council meeting, Desmond after using his powers left behind a bloody blotch on the railing by Valya? And Valya in turn sent that away for analysis? Well, Tula received the information this week and plugged it into a DNA analyzer. Turns out that ol’ Dez is part Atreides… and part Harkonnen… and 100% Tula’s son, by way of her dalliance with ill-fated Orry Atreides many years ago!
As Desmond would reveal to Natalya, he was born to a Sister, who in turn left him to be raised by scavengers. A sympathetic/opportunistic Natalya caressed Desmond’s cheek, and then pulled him in for a kiss, and then proposed that they band together to take down the “witches” once and for all!
