'Doubling Down With the Derricos' Karen Sends a Direct Message About Having 14 Kids

In 2020, TLC viewers were introduced to Deon and Karen Derrico in Doubling Down With the Derricos. The Las Vegas couple are parents to a staggering 14 kids—and recently, the busy mom dished on why she decided to have so many children.

On Monday, Feb. 10, Karen took to Instagram to directly answer a commonly asked question from fans: Why does she have 14 kids?

"It's not like I went on Amazon and was like, 'Hey, let me order up some children'" she said in a voiceover in a video of her using an exercise machine.

"So, I wanted as many children as God blessed me to have," she continued. "And my first two pregnancies ended in miscarriage, and then I had Darian. Then I had, within four years, two more miscarriages."

Karen concluded, "After that, I had my son, Derrick, and then my twins, quintuplets and two sets of triplets. So who am I to tell God to stop when I didn't even think I could have one?"

In addition to their two singletons, Darian, 19, and Derrick, 14, Karen and Deon share: twins Dallas and Denver, 13; quintuplets Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician and Daiten, 11; twins (originally triplets, but their brother Carter died shortly after birth) Diez and Dior, 7; and triplets Dawsyn, De'Aren and Dyver, 5.

TLC has not officially confirmed Season 6 of Doubling Down With the Derricos. However, Deon revealed in July 2024 that they were filming for a new season—and that it would cover what happened leading up to his and Karen's shocking divorce.
