Bradley Cooper repping the Philadelphia Eagles in 'Silver Linings Playbook'

Bradley Cooper is bringing Philadelphia spirit to Super Bowl LIX.

The Maestro star was spotted serving cheesesteaks out of a food truck to Philadelphia Eagles fans in New Orleans on Friday ahead of the big game, where Cooper's hometown team will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Cooper can be seen slicing beef inside the vehicle and handing them out to fans (who sporadically shout "Go Birds!") in a video from PEOPLE.

Cooper recently partnered with Danny DiGiampietro, the owner of Philadelphia-based Angelo's Pizzeria, to open Danny and Coop's Cheesesteaks in New York City in January. The actor and DiGiampietro had previously served the signature Philly dish at a pop-up food truck appearance in December 2023.

And that wasn't the first time we've seen Cooper go chef mode. The actor played Jack Bourdain, a fictionalized version of Anthony Bourdain, on the short-lived sitcom Kitchen Confidential in 2005. He also headlined the culinary dramedy Burnt in 2015. Bizarrely, Cooper's chef character, Adam Jones, was shown in a photo during a montage of actual chefs during a season 3 episode of The Bear last year.

It should come as no surprise that Cooper is in Louisiana for the Super Bowl, as he's one of the most prominent Eagles fans in Hollywood. The Star Is Born actor grew up in the Philadelphia area, and has been a vocal supporter of the team for his entire life. Cooper once performed as the team's mascot, Swoop, in a 2015 segment of NFL on Fox's pre-game show. His character in Silver Linings Playbook (which earned him an Oscar nomination in 2013) spends much of the film's runtime in an Eagles Jersey, too.

Cooper connected with Eagles leadership while filming Silver Linings Playbook scenes at Lincoln Financial Field, and has been spotted at a number of the team's games in the owner's box. While on the awards circuit for Maestro in 2023, Howard Stern asked the actor-filmmaker, "Sophie's Choice for 2024: You win the Oscar — not only for Best Director, but Best Actor and Carey Mulligan winning Best Actress — or the Eagles have a Super Bowl victory. What would you choose?"

The choice was easy: "Eagles Super Bowl victory. Eagles. I'm sick!" Cooper responded without hesitation. "I'm not lying. I'm not lying."

Cooper also recently made headlines when he appeared on the Today show to surprise Declan LaBaron, a young Eagles fan with systemic juvenile arthritis, with tickets to the Super Bowl. "You're going to the Super Bowl, baby!" he said in the segment. "I'll see you there."
