"I told myself if I ever won a Grammy, and I got to stand up here in front of the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists," she began before detailing her struggles as a young artist without health insurance. "It was so devastating to feel so committed to my art and feel so betrayed by the system."

"Record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection," she continued before concluding, "Labels, we got you. Do you got us?"

While the crowd went wild over Roan's speech, fans and followers were just as loud with their reactions via social media.

"That was real," wrote one fan, while another said, "Chappell Roan slapping a lot of people in the face and using her space to value artists and art, this is very important and so shows how giant and honest she is."

A separate user added, "Totally agree! Artists' creativity drives the industry. It's time for labels to step up and support them properly."
