Catherine O'Hara and Seth Rogen Poke Fun at 'Phone-Toting Fetuses' at Golden Globes in Hilarious “The Studio” Clip: Watch
The latest teaser for AppleTV+ series, 'The Studio', dropped just in time for the 2025 awards season!
Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara kicked off awards season with a sneak peek at their upcoming show, The Studio.
Ahead of the duo presenting the best performance by an actress in a limited series or motion picture made for television at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 5, the new teaser for their upcoming AppleTV+ series was released.
In the new clip, Rogen's character — the newly appointed Hollywood studio executive Matt Remick — attends the Golden Globes beside his predecessor Amy, played by Catherine O’Hara.
There, Matt and Amy quip about the red carpet and the influx of faces they don’t recognize.
“Who are all these people? I don't recognize any of them,” Matt asks the former Continental Studios executive. She quips back, stating they’re influencers. “Most of them don’t even go inside. They just make their red carpet TikToks and leave,” she explains, before making her a quirky pose for a flashing camera.
Dissatisfied, he replies, “What the f--- is happening to this town? I remember when the red carpet for the Golden Globes actually stood for something.”
“Yeah but if you don’t get these phone-toting fetuses to focus on something longer than 15 seconds all of this is going the way DEI departments,” she retorts. As the clip comes to a close and before the show’s title card appears, Matt is heard saying, “Oh, that would be a shame.”
The upcoming series will follow Rogen’s character and “his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films,” per the synopsis. “As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt's been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him."
Rogen revealed that he and his co-creator, Evan Goldberg, found inspiration from their own careers in Hollywood. “Almost everything is inspired, if not directly by something that has happened then by feelings we’ve had or fears that have arisen about things we hope don’t happen,” Rogen told Vanity Fair last month.
“A lot of it was either told to us by other people or things we ourselves have experienced,” said the Freak and Geeks star, who also co-wrote, directed and executive-produced the series with Goldberg.
Rogen and O’Hara will be joined in Apple TV+’s new 10-episode sitcom by Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders. The series will also feature guest appearances from Martin Scorsese, Byran Cranston, Anthony Mackie, Adam Scott, Zack Snyder, Zoë Kravitz, Charlize Theron, Ice Cube and Olivia Wilde, per Vanity Fair.
