Can members of the royal family get tattoos?
There are many rules the royal family have to follow, so what about tattoos?
Being a member of the monarchy may mean following strict rules but some of the most influential modern royals have been inked.
Princess Stefanie of Monaco, and daughter to the late Grace Kelly, has several tattoos including a floral bracelet and two jumping dolphins on her foot, according to Hello!
Princess Eugenie has a small circular tattoo on the back of her ear and apparently Prince William wanted a guardian angel tattoo like the one David Beckham has.
A sailor who was deployed with the Prince on the HMS Iron Duke, told The Sun (via The Express) that William definitely wanted to get inked but Kate Middleton didn’t approve.

“He asked how painful it was and wanted to know what they thought of his idea for a tattoo across his shoulders. We didn’t think he was serious — but he said he was keen to get a large tattoo like the one Beckham has.”
Body ink has a rich history in the British royal family. King Edward VII, great-grandfather of the late Queen Elizabeth II, traveled to Jerusalem to get a cross tattooed on his arm
The royals have lots of protocols, but there is no ban on tattoos.
