Princess Charlotte is one of the most influential children in the world. From the popularity of her name to the outfits that she wears, Charlotte’s influence is immense.

And when it comes to fashion, she is most often spotted wearing a dress - but why does she always wear them?

The Princess of Wales supposedly likes her children to wear outfits that are as timeless as possible.

One of Charlotte’s outfit designers Rachel Riley told The Telegraph: "I think they are going for clothing that is classic and timeless, rather than clothes that draw attention to them."

While there are no rules that would stop Charlotte from wearing pants more often, royal expert Marlene Koenig, who runs the Royal Musings blog, told Harper's Bazaar that historically royal girls are often encouraged to wear dresses on formal occasions.

Even so, Koenig said: “I expect that when the kids are at home, playing in the nursery or in the backyard, they are wearing more casual clothes.”
