How to keep mozzies away when camping and caravanning
It's an issue that drove one person to ask for help, taking to a Facebook group writing, What does everyone use to keep mozzies etc away from under the awning at night? We need something safe for bubs and dogs! They are crazy where we are."
Thankfully, the caravanning community loves to share their tips and tricks for making life on the road more comfortable, so they very quickly added plenty of ideas to the post.
"I have an oil diffuser and put citronella and lime oil in it," was one reply.
"Sandalwood and cedar mossies coils, can get them from Bunnings," was another.
"Solar-powered mossie zappers - put them across the front, work a treat," a third person added.
However, the winner definitely seemed to be a product that you can grab from Bunnings, with the majority of respondents recommending the item.
"Thermocell available at Bunnings and other camping shops and online," someone said.
"Thermacell definitely. Amazingly keeps the mozzies away," another enthused.
"We have the Thermocell and have been using for a couple years now. It works every time. Keeps mozzies and midges away," yet another person added.
"Thermacell from Bunnings," echoed someone else.
Which Thermacell is best for camping?
The Thermacell range appears to have quite a few variations, such as the Backpacker Mosquito Repeller, which repels mosquitoes and insects by creating a 21m2 zone of protection.
However, one of the most popular models seemed to be the Thermacell Graphite Mini Halo Insect Repeller, which is $47.99 from Bunnings.
