One Direction fans are mourning Liam Payne after it was announced the 31-year-old singer had tragically died after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities have released a statement about Liam's cause of death, with Alberto Crescenti, head of the Buenos Aires’ public emergency medical services saying Liam fell around '14 metres', suffering 'very serious injuries incompatible with life'.

The One Direction star had been on holiday in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, and was recently spotted on October 2 at Niall Horan's concert, cheering on his former bandmate before later posing a snap of the two reuniting.

“Literally we sleep in every day until at least 12, we’re such losers,” Kate joked off-camera.

In Kate's TikTok, she detailed she was only meant to be in Argentina for five days and instead stayed for two weeks.

"I was so ready to leave, honestly, love South America but I hate staying in one place too long," she said. "We were supposed to be there for five days and it turned into two weeks and I was just like, I need to go home."

Kate then shared an eerie detail from her flight, with the influencer being sat in the 1D seat on the plane. "Of course my seat was 1D, I feel like this happens every time I fly," she said, before saying she had anxiety before flying and showing footage of a rash on her neck.
