Bachelorette runner-up Jamie-Lee supports Darvid amid breakup drama

Less than a week after The Bachelorette’s Darvid Garayeli announced his shock split from Brooke Blurton, becoming the seventh couple who have failed to make it work after the reality TV show, the drama has continued to unfold on social media.

Not only have the pair now unfollowed each other on Instagram, with Brooke also deleting quite a few recent snaps of Darvid from her profile, but it appears as though a number of Bachelorette contestants have taken sides.

Four of Brooke’s former participants have since left supportive comments on Darvid’s recent Instagram post, where he thanked his followers for their support and said he was “putting on a brave face”.

Despite coming in second place in the show’s finale, which only aired six weeks ago, Jamie-Lee Dayz penned an encouraging message to Darvid.

“You’ve got this,” she wrote alongside a white heart emoji.

Fellow contestant Carissa Croft also commented on Darvid’s selfie with, “Sending love Darv. You’re such a good human”, followed by Beau Tauwhara who simply replied, “Love ya bro”.

“HUGE LOVE MY BRO. You’re one of the kindest souls I know, stay strong! About time for that old fashioned right?” Luca Fraraccio added.

Meanwhile, Brooke is yet to share a grid post on her Instagram which would allow for people to publicly show their support, although they are able to message her privately.

'Brooke and I have parted ways'

Darvid shocked reality TV fans on Sunday when he took to his Instagram Story to reveal that he and Brooke had called it quits.

The 27-year-old landscaper had only recently moved to Melbourne to start their new life together, despite having family, a business and a house in Brisbane.

“Starting the new year off with an end to a chapter and hopefully the beginning of another,” he wrote.

“Unfortunately Brooke and I have parted ways. Whilst we both genuinely thought we were each other's person, things change and that's okay.”

He went on to ask his followers to “please respect their privacy”, adding that there have been “a lot of lessons learned”.

It didn’t take long for Brooke, who had just celebrated her 27th birthday the day before, to post her own statement online and reveal that she didn’t expect their breakup to be made public so soon.

“I just want to say right now I'm finding this really quite overwhelming and just as surprising to me as you guys,” she began. “I just woke up to the news. It was definitely agreed to part ways. I just wanted to do it privately, amicably and respectfully.”

“As you can imagine, this is a lot”, she continued, before sharing that there was “a lot going on” in her and Darvid’s worlds.

“I really do hope you respect some part of what 'privacy' we do have right now, because like I said, this was a surprise to wake up to just as much as it was for you guys,” she concluded, adding she would be “tuning out” for now.
