Bachelorette's Darvid Garayeli announces shock split from Brooke Blurton: 'Parted ways'

Just over a month after The Bachelorette finale aired, winner Darvid Garayeli has shared the news he and Brooke Blurton have "parted ways".

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Darvid posted a brief statement for his followers writing "things change".

"Starting the new year off with an end to a chapter and hopefully the beginning of another," Darvid wrote.

"Unfortunately Brooke and I have parted ways. Whilst we both genuinely thought we were each others person, things change and that's okay."

He went on to ask people to "respect their privacy" adding "a lot of lessons learned".

Brooke, who celebrated her 27th birthday yesterday, responded with her own statement revealing she was seemingly blindsided by Darvid's post announcing their split to the public.

"I just want to say right now I'm finding this really quite overwhelming and just as surprising to me as you guys," Brooke wrote. "I just woke up to the news."

The split has come as a shock to many, after they fell in love on last year’s season of The Bachelorette.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Lifestyle after the show finished, they had shared their love story had actually began three years earlier, when Darvid messaged Brooke on Instagram after her first stint on The Bachelor in 2018.

"He slid into my DMs like three years ago,” Brooke confessed at the time.

And a year later Darvid messaged Brooke for a second time with, “I’d marry you”.

After six weeks of dates, cocktail parties and rose ceremonies on The Bachelorette, Brooke picked her ‘Persian Prince’ Darvid in the emotional final episode, which saw former Bachelor star and runner-up Jamie-Lee Dayz left in tears.

Queensland landscaper Darvid had been a fan favourite from the very start, with the 27-year-old being the recipient of the coveted White Rose during the premiere episode.

Since then, rumours about the pair being an item post-show heated up, with Darvid and Brooke’s chemistry being undeniable on screen.

Darvid was also revealed to be the betting odds' favourite to win Brooke’s heart this season.
