Hidden detail in Bachelor stars Jimmy and Holly's engagement

It’s been just over a year since they declared their love for one another on The Bachelor, and now Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston have announced their engagement.

The couple, who moved in together just a few weeks after their season finished airing on TV, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a number of photos from the romantic proposal in Sorrento, Italy.

“FOREVER,” they captioned the gallery of snaps.

The photos feature Jimmy wearing white pants and a blue shirt kneeling in front of Holly, who paired a bright orange dress with equally bright pink heels.

The pair are also both shown wiping away their tears of joy as they stand in front of the Italian sunset.

The final photo in the gallery is a close-up of Holly’s magnificent marquise-shaped engagement ring.

‘Best news ever’

Jimmy and Holly’s joint post was quickly flooded with comments from their famous followers, including The Bachelor’s host Osher Günsberg who wrote: “SEALED THE DEAL”

"BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!” Holly’s fellow season nine contestant Carlie Hodges replied, followed by Tahnee Leeson who added, “Yesss so happy for you both”.

“Omg CONGRATULATIONS. This is the best news ever,” MAFS’ Selina Chhaur said, while her co-star Brent Vitiello shared, “Congrats you beautiful people”.

“Bring on the wedding!! Eeekkkkk. Can’t wait to celebrate you two! Love you both,” Jules Robinson remarked, with her husband Cam Merchant writing, “This. Is. Magnificence. Congratulations guys! So much love”.

A number of former stars from The Bachelor franchise also left comments, including Matty Johnson, Florence Alexandra, Cassandra Wood, Bec Cvilikas, Bella Varelis, Darvid Garayeli, Becky Miles, Helena Sauzier and Nikki Gogan.

‘Living in a dream’

The pair later took to their Instagram Stories to share more details about the engagement, including the surprising fact that it took place a little while ago.

“A few weeks ago, I asked the girl of my dreams to marry me,” Jimmy wrote. “No words can describe the love I have for you @hollykingston.”

“A few weeks ago, the love of my life asked me to marry him in the most spectacular, thoughtful way,” Holly shared. “I truly feel like I'm living in a dream. You are everything I could've ever wished for in a person and so much more.”

Jimmy also revealed that the romantic proposal was “captured by an Italian photographer hiding on the street”.

“I also may have sneakily filmed the proposal…” he added. “Some day soon we’ll post it so you can watch me absolutely sh*tting myself.”

Jimmy and Holly are now the eighth success story to come out of the reality TV franchise, after Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, Sam Wood and Snezana Wood, Georgia Love and Lee Elliot, Matty Johnson and Laura Byrne, Conor Canning and Mary Viturino, Glenn Smith and Alisha Aitken-Radburn, and Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska.
