Bachelor contestant claims she’s ‘traumatised’ after filming the show

A contestant from this year’s season of The Bachelor has slammed the dating show, claiming that she has been left ‘traumatised’.

The unnamed participant says that they feel like the entire experience was a ‘waste of their time’, with the series scoring abysmal ratings and the women gaining minimal Instagram followers.

“It’s traumatising. A lot of the girls are really traumatised from the whole experience,” they claimed to Daily Mail.

"Some of the girls don't eat, don't work, don't sleep.”

She also declared that the group feel “ripped off” after not being able to reap the traditional rewards of being a part of the franchise, leaving them questioning why they ever signed up for it.

“People aren't even watching the show. They went there and didn't get shown and barely got any new followers,” she added.

Jimmy’s season of The Bachelor has scored the series’ lowing ratings ever, with one episode attracting only 360,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, the premiere episode received only 482,000 viewers, a large drop from Bachelor Locky Gilbert’s premiere seen by 681,000 people last year.

Bachelor Nick Cummins, aka the Honey Badger, received the show’s biggest premiere with 940,000 viewers, while season 3’s Sam Wood has the highest rating finale episode, with 1.48 million people tuning in.

After rumours that Jimmy was upset with his ‘fame-hungry’ contestants this season, the Sydney pilot confessed to Yahoo Lifestyle that watching the show has made him have a different perspective of the women.

“Some of them I have [seen a different side to] that I just had no idea,” he explained. “If I had known that, I definitely would have changed my narrative on the show.”

Jimmy went on to say that while he’d love to retrospectively make some changes about who did and didn’t receive a rose, he knows that the drama is all part of the reality TV process.

“There's a reason why the producers keep that stuff away from me because they just want it to kind of work organically,” he said.

“If they're showing me that kind of stuff then I know exactly what's going to happen, I know exactly what's going on and I probably would have just gotten rid of some people earlier on if I had seen that.”

Despite this, he’s happy to have been “kept in the dark” because he wants the show to be entertaining for viewers.

“Watching it back, I don’t care how everyone else acts and how they play out because I’ve got an amazing girl and I couldn’t be happier.”
