Bachelor's Locky and Irena share miscarriage heartbreak: 'Darkest days'
Bachelor stars Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska have opened up about their heartbreaking miscarriage and how they overcame their grief.
The couple, who have just celebrated one year since they fell in love on the Channel 10 dating series, revealed that their time together post-show has been filled with “amazing highs and devastating lows”.
“During our first few months together I, unfortunately, suffered a miscarriage,” Irena told WHO.
“But Locky was my absolute rock and having his support made me love him even more.”

The publication reported that the devastating event may have been linked to the stress that the couple endured after the reality show ended.
As well as being separated from Locky due to the pandemic, Irena had to deal with ‘intense online bullying’ while her father also suffered a medical emergency.
“We are just normal people and while we put ourselves in the spotlight, you never know what is going on in our lives that day,” Locky said.
“If you have to say something, then direct it at me, not my girl.”
The pair embarked on an epic 7-month road trip around Australia immediately after their season of The Bachelor finished airing on TV, which Irena described as a “crash course in getting to know each other”.
“When you’re on the road with someone like this for so long, you really get to see the good, the bad and the ugly,” Locky added. “But we’ve had an amazing time and know we’ll be together forever.”
Back in Perth, the reality TV stars are planning on getting an apartment, resuming work and living life as normal as they possibly can. Irena will go back to nursing full-time, while Locky wants to launch an adventure travel company.
They also disclosed that they want to get married and have children soon, and they’ve already named their two future kids.
The relationship update comes shortly after Irena did a tell-all Q&A on her Instagram story about her time on The Bachelor.
When asked if there were any moments from the show that viewers didn’t get to see, the 31-year-old confessed that her first kiss with Locky happened away from the cameras.
“We actually had our first kiss off-camera in between scenes which was very naughty and sneaky but we couldn’t help ourselves,” she said.
Irena also revealed that, unlike other Bachelor relationships, she wasn’t allowed to see Locky at all while the show was still airing on TV.
“We have been the only couple in Australian Bachelor history to not see each other at all from the finale to the finale airing on TV, which was 10 weeks,” she explained.
“We couldn’t have any secret rendezvous due to Covid which was very hard, but we spoke non-stop.”
