Kyle and Jackie O deal: Major twist as radio stars announce new gig after brutal axing
The radio hosts were sacked so Kyle and Jackie O could take their show to Melbourne as well as Sydney.
Melbourne radio fans were left shocked last November when it was announced that KIIS FM hosts Lauren Phillips and Jason Hawkins were being axed to make room for the Kyle and Jackie O Show to air in Melbourne as well as Sydney this year.
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson's huge $200m deal was confirmed at the time, seeing the pair's salaries increase to $10m a year for the next ten years.
On Friday, NOVA Entertainment revealed Jason and Lauren will join Nova 100 and bring their show Jase & Lauren to the station.
The station's current breakfast show Ben, Liam & Belle will move slots to host a new national show, Late Drive from 6pm to 8pm weekdays.
In a statement, Lauren and Jason shared their excitement at bringing their show to Nova.

"I'm beyond excited to be joining the NOVA family," Lauren shared. "I've been a longtime fan of the station and to be joining Nova 100 really is a dream come true. I've made the most of having a few months off, but my plans of becoming a professional dog walker are now on hold, and I'm so ready to get back to work with Jase here in Melbourne."
Jase added, "I'm wrapped to have a job again. I'm even more over the moon that we get to join Nova. My whole career, I have always wanted to be a part of this network, it's the perfect fit for Loz and I. So, I'm sorry Nova, we're never leaving. Melbourne, we're back! So join us and come over to Nova."
The pair's first day has yet to be announced, with the pair teasing that fans should listen to the station to find out when they return to the airwaves.
Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton and Belle Jackson also spoke of the change, saying, "We've had the most incredible journey so far at the Nova Network and we're super excited for the next step. During our time at Nova, we've always aimed to entertain as well as support our listeners and community, so to be hosting a national show together is a dream.
