Kyle and Jackie O deal: Axed radio stars make exciting announcement
Lauren Phillips and Jason Hawkins were axed from KIIS FM after Kyle and Jackie O took their radio gig, but they'll be back on the airwaves soon.
Following their shock axing from Melbourne radio late last year, former KIIS FM hosts Lauren Phillips and Jason Hawkins revealed last month they would be returning to the airwaves on Nova FM. The news that Lauren and Jason would be replaced in Melbourne by the Kyle and Jackie O Show, which was previously only broadcast in Sydney, left loyal Melbourne listeners very upset.
Now, the pair's return to air date has been confirmed, with Nova Entertainment announcing Jase & Lauren will kick off their new show on Friday, March 8, on Nova 100.
'Overwhelmed by the response'
Speaking about their radio return, Lauren shared in a statement, "We’ve been genuinely overwhelmed by the response over the past few months and, in particular, the excitement of the last few weeks.

"No one is more excited to be back together and back on air than the two of us. We are counting down the minutes until next Friday. We’ve got plenty of stories to tell and lots of catching up to do. Melbourne, we are back and can’t wait to have a laugh with you."
Jase also shared his excitement, adding, "The response from everyone has been overwhelming, and we really appreciate it. It’s added a lot of pressure on that first show and those three hours of work, so I do feel we’ll need the weekend off to recover.
"Jokes aside, we are so pumped to have our dysfunctional family back together and we can’t wait to get on the air at Nova and catch up with everyone."
The station's current breakfast show Ben, Liam & Belle will finish up next Thursday and then move slots to host a new national show, Late Drive with Ben, Liam and Belle, from 6pm to 8pm weekdays.
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson's huge $200m deal was confirmed at the time, seeing the pair's salaries increase from $5m to $10m a year for the next ten years.
Fans share excitement over Jase and Lauren's new gig
Fans have shared their excitement over Jase and Lauren's new home on Nova, with one Instagram user writing, "Can’t wait I switched to Nova as soon as I heard they were coming."
"So excited - no one is as good as you guys," another said.
"I can't wait to start listening to you guys on the radio again, the best breakfast team ever," a third added.
"I can't wait to hear you guys again," yet another fan wrote.
