An Aussie influencer has shared an awkward wedding invite disaster on her podcast, saying that she was left in a pickle after she was asked by people when they should book flights for her wedding, but there was one big problem... the people who were asking the question, were people who were technically not on her wedding guest list.

Former Love Island star Anna McEvoy married her partner Michael Staples in Corfu, Greece, earlier this year, and recently took to her podcast Where's Your Head At to share a story with her co-host Matthew Zukowski about the awkward wedding invite moment.

"People who were not invited to my wedding, were like, 'Hey, I need to book flights soon, can you please send me the details?'" Anna shared. "They weren't invited to the wedding, and I was like, 'You know what? This is so awkward' and I just sent the details," she said with a laugh.

(Anna later told Yahoo Lifestyle that the people involved did not make it to her wedding in the end.)

"I was like, what am I going to do?" she said, as Matt exclaimed, "That's worse!"

"What am I going to do, not invite them?" she asked Matt. "I'll just be bullied into having them at the wedding, if they're willing to send me a message saying, 'Hey babe, I need to book a flight, can you send me the details?' If they're willing to do that... they can have an invite," Anna continued.

In the comments section, listeners of the podcast held mixed opinions on the whole situation.

"Actually that’s fair. If someone cares enough to book flights and ask for details, they should come to your wedding," one person said. "Anyone willing to book a flight to a wedding is the only time I would ever reconsider an invite," another agreed.

"I had no problem telling acquaintances they weren’t invited 😅 If they’re going to be rude and assume they’re invited when we are BARELY friends, then they kinda deserve the reality check," one person stated. "I had someone ask me if they're invited to my wedding and I had to say no. Hated every second of that interaction," another shared.

So what happened in the end and what's Anna's advice to people in the same boat?

"They actually didn’t end up coming to the wedding in the end," Anna told Yahoo Lifestyle. "The clip has gone a bit viral but still hoping they don’t see it haha! I didn’t want to lose a friend over not inviting them, especially after they blatantly asked for details, so I just thought 'f**k it'."
