Amy Schumer 'shocked' to learn her “SNL” porn teacher sketch is most viewed: 'Everybody's a pervert'
"Porn Teacher" is the only sketch on the official "SNL" YouTube account to surpass 100 million views.
Amy Schumer isn't just humble about her fame, she's shocked by it.
When informed in a recent interview with Howard Stern that her "Porn Teacher" sketch from the Oct. 10, 2015 episode of Saturday Night Live is the comedy program's most-viewed video on YouTube, Schumer responded, "Can you believe that? The most viewed SNL sketch of all time is me and Kyle Mooney, the 'Porn Teacher.'"
"I want to bring it back for the 50th," Schumer continued, "where I'm like a realtor or something. I was shocked to hear that and then you're like, 'Of course, everybody's a pervert.'"
In the sketch, Schumer in sexy teacher mode tantalizes student Mooney, doing his best wooden porn actor impression, giving the viewer the impression that the pair are gearing up to film a hardcore scene for a porn film. But they're continually interrupted by Aidy Bryant, who plays a precocious student who takes all Schumer's double entendres at face value.
When Stern asked Schumer who wrote the sketch, the Trainwreck star responded, "Oh, some pervert. Yeah, no, we just did it, thought nothing of it," she continued. "It's like 100-something million, it has more than 'Cowbell,' you know, the most classic. People really are perverts."

Reps for Saturday Night Live did not respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for clarification on which writer penned or spearheaded the writing of "Porn Teacher." The season 42 head writing team consisted of Chris Kelly, Sarah Schneider, Bryan Tucker, and Kent Sublette, who'd been with the program since season 40. Other notable staff writers at the time included Michael Che, Colin Jost, Julio Torres, and Sudi Green.
The "Cowbell" sketch Schumer referred to is called one of the series most enduringly popular. "More Cowbell" first aired on the April 8, 2000 episode of SNL and was written by Will Ferrell. The sketch revolves around the recording of the Blue Öyster Cult song "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," and depicts an overeager cowbell player (Ferrell) annoying members of the band (Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan, Chris Parnell, and Horatio Sanz) with his constant dinging, that paradoxically pleases the producer played by host Christopher Walken.
"More Cowbell" only has 28 million views on YouTube; that's nothing to scoff at, but it pales in comparison to the 106 million racked up by "Porn Teacher." These counts don't reflect take downs and re-uploads by the SNL channel. "More Cowbell" was uploaded only five years ago, despite premiering on broadcast television 20 years before that, for example.

Both "Porn Teacher" and "More Cowbell" frequently appear on SNL "best sketches" list, as "Cowbell" did when it was named the best sketch of season 20 on EW's ranking of the best sketch from each season of SNL in 2014.
On YouTube, "Porn Teacher" is followed in second place by "Black Jeopardy," a sketch from 2016 featuring Sasheer Zamata, Leslie Jones, Kenan Thompson, and host Tom Hanks. Schumer may be onto something with the pervert allegations, as the third most-watched sketch on the platform is the Lindsay Lohan-starring "Harry Potter: Hermoine Growth Spurt," from a 2004 episode.
Unlike "Black Jeopardy," "Porn Teacher" never got a follow-up or continuation. At least, not one featuring Schumer. Bryant did return as the credulous naif in another porn-themed sketch in a 2017 episode, this time featuring Heidi Gardner as a babysitter and host Chance the Rapper as a pizza delivery man.
