Adele is taking a break from music. The Grammy winner announced the news to fans in Munich over the weekend, saying that she won’t be performing for a minute after she wraps up her Las Vegas residency in just 10 shows.

“I have 10 shows to do,” an emotional Adele told the crowd. “But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”

Adele laid the groundwork for her break back in July, when she told Germany’s ZDF public broadcast service (via Deadline), “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while."

She also said that doing over 100 shows in Vegas (her residency has been going on since 2022!) has made her feel like her “tank is quite empty.”

That said, acting could be in her future. Back in December, Adele teased an unnamed movie she’s interested in while chatting to The Hollywood Reporter. “The guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it,” she explained. “I bug him every now and then about it, but he’s just not there yet. But that’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I’d nail it. I think I’d do really, really, really good at it.”

FYI, Adele will be heading back to Las Vegas for another month of Weekends With Adele, which runs from October 25 to November 23 so...grab tickets if you can!
