Queen Camilla, 77, will instead be represented at the event by the Duchess of Gloucester while the Queen is said to be "resting" at home, according to Hello! magazine.
As the outlet reported, a palace spokesperson said, "Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest."
"With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal," the palace further stated.
"She apologizes to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result."
In addition to missing the opening of the Field of Remembrance, Queen Camilla, who recently returned from a royal tour in Australia and Samoa with King Charles, has also pulled out of Buckingham Palace's reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes, which will be hosted by the King on Thursday evening.
No further conditions about the Queen's condition have been revealed at this time, but she is believed to be "under doctors' supervision."
