"Starbucks?" the man named Matt responded. "Yeah I'm not sure this is going to work.

"You seem nice and all, but I have standards – obviously you don't. I'm trying to build a vision and work towards the finer things in life, and that starts with people on my same wavelength."

He finished by saying, "Starbucks just f***s up the vibe."

"I literally can not take online dating anymore how is a guy going to be insane about a Starbucks date??" Colleen captioned the photo.

Twitter users were divided over the situation with one user writing, "I'm a former barista hipster Seattleite, pretentious as they come, and even I can't imagine being like 'you suggested Starbucks, vibes are f***ed.'"

"Oh wow you dodged THAT bullet SO early lmao," another added.

"Hey Colleen, Starbucks sounds great! I'm actually not free Thursday but is Friday good?" one man replied.

"I’m sorry that rape culture leads women to want a safe place to meet someone for the first time," one woman pointed out. "Anyone with an understanding of our world’s flaws and compassion for general fear should understand this. He’s not the one. Clearly!"

"Saying you don't have standards after you've asked him out on a date is a fairly impressive self burn," another user joked.

Colleen's date's response
Funnily enough, Matt saw Colleen's Tweet and sent her a screenshot and described it as 'embarrassing'. Photo: Twitter

"Starbucks??? That’s so unoriginal no wonder you got denied," one man wrote with a woman responding, "Where do you take a first date, Taj Mahal?"

"Starbucks makes perfect sense to me," someone else wrote. "It’s only logical to not invite a stranger to your FAVORITE local coffee shop. Less chance for future run-ins when you find out he’s THIS kind of guy."

Others pointed out that Matt could have simply suggested an alternative rather than being rude.

Funnily enough, Matt saw Colleen's Tweet and sent her a screenshot and said, "Is this you? How embarrassing."

She tweeted the screenshot and added, "Does he mean embarrassing for me or embarrassing for him?"
