Why Was Sabrina Carpenter Censored — Twice — During the 2025 Grammy Awards?
Sabrina Carpenter delivered an iconic debut performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, but one part of the show-stopping performance didn't make it into the broadcast.
Singing a medley of her two hit songs "Espresso" and "Please Please Please," the 25-year-old singer was bleeped-out during the live feed.
Instead of altering the explicit lyrics in "Please Please Please," Carpenter went forward with singing the original lyric, "I beg you, don't embarrass me, motherf—ker."

Carpenter was later bleeped-out once again, after dropping some foul language during her acceptance speech.
After she was announced as the winner of the Best Pop Vocal Album category for her album Short & Sweet, the former Disney Channel star took to the stage to thank the Recording Academy, as well as her family, collaborators, producers, record label and fellow nominees for helping her along the way.
But before exiting the stage, Carpenter said, "You have no idea how much I love you and how much this album means to me," before adding another comment that was censored out of the broadcast, likely because of her language.
Earlier in the speech she apologized for using the word "hell," stating, "I don't know if I'm allowed to say hell, but I said it three times now, so thank you."
Along with her nod for Pop Vocal Album, Carpenter was nominated for five additional awards at this year's ceremony, including Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for "Espresso," plus Song of the Year ("Please Please Please"), Album of the Year and Best New Artist.
