Taylor Swift’s Grammys 2025 Dress Contains a Huge Easter Egg
The second Taylor Swift stepped on the Grammys red carpet, she sparked fan speculation that she could be dropping hints about her next project. Swifties noticed a jeweled “T” hanging under her Chiefs-red dress, dangling over her thigh. This just might be an Easter egg to Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
In Swift’s Reputation track “Call It What You Want,” she sings, “I want to wear his initial / On a chain ’round my neck, chain ’round my neck / Not because he owns me / But ’cause he really knows me.” This was in reference to her relationship with Joe Alwyn, but now, it seems that Swift may be reclaiming the lyric and paying tribute to her relationship with Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
In her song “Guilty as Sin” from the Grammy-nominated The Tortured Poets Department, the singer also croons, “What if he’s written mine on his upper thigh,” further pointing to her relationship with Kelce. The crimson hue of her Vivienne Westwood dress is also reminiscent of Red, her fourth studio album, which she rereleased in 2021.
Beyond the Kelce references, other fans noted the 12 gems on her earrings. This could possibly allude to an announcement of an upcoming project, which would be her twelfth studio album. This number excludes her re-recordings.
Here, a breakdown of some fan reactions to the moment:

Swift is famous for using her outfits, music videos, and sometimes even social media posts to tease upcoming work. In October 2022, she gave a statement to The Washington Post explaining why she does this—and why she has no intention of stopping. “When I was 15 and putting together my first album, [...] I decided to encode the lyrics with hidden messages using capital letters,” she said. “That’s how it started, and my fans and I have since descended into color coding, numerology, word searches, elaborate hints, and Easter eggs. It’s really about turning new music into an event for my fans and trying to entertain them in playful, mischievous, clever ways. As long as they still find it fun and exciting, I’ll keep doing it.”
At last year’s Grammys, Swift’s Schiaparelli couture gown was the first look of her The Tortured Poets Department era. She announced the album during her first speech at the ceremony. Prior to her speech, some fans speculated the outfit was a nod to Reputation (Taylor’s Version), which still hasn’t been officially announced.
Swift is up for many awards this evening. Her nominations include Record of the Year (“Fortnight” with Post Malone), Album of the Year (The Tortured Poets Department), Song of the Year (“Fortnight” with Jack Antonoff and Post Malone), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Gracie Abrams’s “Us”), Best Pop Vocal Album (The Tortured Poets Department), and Best Music Video (“Fortnight”).
