Why Meghan Markle stopped wearing her engagement ring

The Duchess of Sussex hasn't been seen with her ring since May.

Meghan Markle has been spotted without her large diamond engagement ring from Prince Harry in recent months, but it seems as though there's a simple reason behind why the ring has been missing.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been hit with plenty of rumours recently that their marriage is on the rocks, with Meghan not wearing her ring not helping the situation.

Meghan has been opting to wear her wedding band and occasionally layering up with another gold ring.

However, a source has revealed the surprisingly simple reason to Page Six – it's "being fixed".

Harry gave Meghan the ring in November 2017, with a large diamond from Botswana, which they visited early in their relationship, and two smaller diamonds from Princess Diana's collection.

The Duke of Sussex shared with the BBC that he wanted diamonds from his mother's collection to be included so as to ensure "she's with us on this crazy journey together".

Meghan later had the ring altered slightly, changing the yellow gold band to include small diamonds around it after welcoming Prince Archie, who is now 4.

Last month, rumours of a split were shut down by an insider who told Page Six, "It’s not true. It’s literally made up."

It hasn't helped that the pair has been apart due to work, with Harry recently travelling to Japan and Singapore for work, with Meghan staying in the US.
