Did Prince Harry inherit Princess Diana’s engagement ring?
The sapphire engagement ring once belonging to Princess Diana is now worn by Kate Middleton
After the death of Princess Diana in August 1997, her sapphire engagement ring was reportedly inherited by her son Prince Harry.
Many reports claimed Harry then gifted the ring to his brother Prince William to propose to Kate Middleton in 2010. According to Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell via 9Honey, Harry had a “sincere wish for [the ring] to be seen on the throne of England someday."
However, in his bombshell memoir Spare, Prince Harry shut down the rumours, claiming the ring “wasn’t [his] to give”. Harry clarified: “I never gave Willy the ring because it wasn’t mine to give. He already had it. He'd asked for it after Mummy died, and I’d been more than happy to let it go.”
