The Weekend View Sneak Peek: Co-Hosts Revisit Their Auditions in ABC News Live Offshoot (Exclusive)

There’s nothing like a blast from the past.

The co-hosts of The View share a fun surprise in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek from the next episode of The Weekend View, ABC News Live’s Saturday-morning edition of the daytime talker.

As part of a Hot Topics discussion about SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night and the cast auditions included within the Peacock docuseries, Joy Behar, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin are each reminded of the days before they became the ladies of The View, with unearthed audition tapes and some of their earliest moments on TV. (Watch the full video above.)

First up is Behar’s first audition for The View back in 1997, with TV personality Cissy Biggers and model Veronica Webb as her special guests. She also introduces the talk show’s creator and then-host Barbara Walters (who wasn’t actually there). It’s safe to say Behard’s audition was a success, since she joined The View that same year.

For Haines, her blast from the past looks back to 2003, when she first arrived in New York with a clip of her dancing on Live with Kelly and Michael.

The five co-hosts also have a good laugh with Hostin’s video of her earliest years at CNN, playing hula hoop on the Wii. (The full premiere episode also features throwback videos from Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.)

New episodes of The Weekend View stream weekly on ABC News Live, Saturdays at 7:30am ET, with encores at 9:30am and Sundays at 7:30am and 9:30am. The weekend edition of the long-running talk show not only includes Hot Topics discussions but Behind The Table segments with executive producer Brian Teta and the co-hosts.

The Weekend View is executive-produced by Teta with Robin Hommel as executive broadcast producer.
