Watson Learns of Sherlock Holmes’ Death in Sneak Peek From CBS’ New Medical Mystery Drama (Exclusive)

John Watson. Sherlock Holmes. James Moriarty. Shinwell Johnson.

Each of those familiar names from Sherlock Holmes lore is checked in TVLine’s exclusive sneak above from Watson, CBS’ upcoming new medical drama headlined by Morris Chestnut.

Watson stars Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, who — six months after the death of Holmes at the hands of Moriarty — resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. “Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though,” the official synopsis warns. Rather, “Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century.”

But first, the iconic Sherlock must, sadly, die (or at least “die”), and that is the very bad news that a hospitalized Watson — the sole survivor of the fateful, aforementioned Holmes/Moriarty encounter — receives from Shinwell (Ritchie Coster) in the sneak peek above.
