Tones and I shocks Erin Molan with Matildas confession ahead of semi-final game

Tones and I may be performing at the World Cup closing ceremony but the Aussie singer doesn’t even know if she can watch the Matildas play in the semi-final clash tonight.
Matildas fever has gripped the nation, with the Australian women’s national football team set to take on England in a nail-biting game at Stadium Australia in Sydney.
Speaking this morning on 2DAY FM’s Hughey, Ed & Erin, Tones said that while she has tickets for tonight’s sold out game, she doesn’t know if she’ll attend yet.
“Look, I have very close friends that are itching to take those tickets if needs be, they will not go to waste, I promise,” she said.
Erin looks absolutely shocked, saying: “So why wouldn’t you?”

Tones continued: “I don’t know what mental state I’ll be in and I keep putting myself in the situation like if they lose and I’m there how will I feel? If they win and I’m there how will I feel? And the thing is, the good outweigh the bad.
“If they lose and I’m there I won’t be able to move, I don’t think my mental state will let me walk through the crowd. I’ll have to stand in that seat where I’m sitting at least until midnight or until someone goes ‘you’ve got to go girl’ and I don’t know if I want to be up until midnight.”
Erin went on to tell her that she needs to expose herself to things that scare her in order to move forward.
Moving on to last week’s penalty shootout, which went on for 20 minutes, Tones said she was watching it from the lounge room first but ended up switching rooms numerous times because she didn’t know what to do.
“For the last three penalty shots, I turned the TV off completely, I put my phone down and I waited - because I was on my own - I waited for my friends to text me because we were texting for the whole game. And I waited for the text and it took ages and I was like they’ve lost they’ve lost and then a text message bubble came up and I was like yeeees. I was like where’s the remote and I turned it back on. That’s why I’m nervous about tonight,” she said.
Tones also appeared on Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox this morning, where she said she messaged the team about Sunday’s final.
“Yesterday it came out I was doing the FIFA World Cup performance, some of the girls messaged and said, ‘This is great!’ and then I was like, ‘Nah, it would be great if we were all playing on Sunday,’ and they wrote back saying, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll be playing Tones.’
“It made me feel really good, it made me feel really like, really confident and really like, ‘Yeah, let’s stop all being nervous, the girls aren’t nervous, they know what to do, they’re got a job to do, they know what they’re doing, they’re confident, let’s be confident!’”
“I’m so invested in this that if the Tillies don’t win tonight, I will wake up tomorrow with no purpose.”
