Today Show thrown into chaos and disappears off-air: 'Sabotage'
The Today Show disappeared off screens for 25 minutes on Monday morning after technical issues began wreaking havoc during the 7:30am news update.
Alex Cullen was delivering the update, when the audio desk began failing, leaving him, and everyone else, without sound, TV Blackbox reports.
The show continued for one minute, without sound, before it was replaced by five to 10 minutes of in-house ads, and later a pre-recorded episode of Talking Honey, hosted by Shelly Horton, began airing.
When David Campbell and Amelia Adams, who were filling in for Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon, returned to screens they joked the glitch was an act of "sabotage" from the regular hosts.

"We are here doing you guys a favour and then you pulled the plug on us. So much so that we went to Nine Honey," Amelia joked.
"Even though we look quite calm there is a lot of people behind the scenes at Nine who have been very frantic trying to get us back on air so we want to thank them for their diligence," David added.
Many viewers took to social media to question what was happening on their screens, with one user writing, "@TheTodayShow am I on the wrong channel? Why is 9Honey on my screen?? Have I missed something??? Changing channels!!!!"
"What’s happening @Channel9? No Today Show?" another said. "[Five] minutes of in-house ads, now playing pre recorded ep of Talking Honey?"

"Why is @TheTodayShow not on? Where are the news and what is 'talking honey'?" A third wrote.
Shelly Horton joked about the "funny" situation on Twitter, writing, "So a few technical glitches on @thetodayshow this morning meant they had to go off air and play @9honey Talking Honey! We made it to prime time breakfast TV without having to get up at 3am. WINNING!"
