Miles Mitchell, who won the Chalamet lookalike contest in New York City this past October, shared on Instagram over the weekend that he met the actor at a screening event.

The 21-year-old's video showed the A Complete Unknown actor, 28, shaking Mitchell's hand before realizing who he was and excitedly exclaiming, "Oh, s---!", before the two embraced and posed for a photo together.

Commenters were beside themselves, with one joking, "This is the biggest thing to ever happen for any chronically online person."

"This was very necessary," said another, while a third quipped of Chalamet, "He was more excited than you were HAHA."

Chalamet went viral for crashing his own lookalike contest in N.Y.C. on Oct. 27, after which event organizer Anthony Po spoke to PEOPLE about being issued a $500 fine for hosting a public event without a permit — which Chalamet's team offered to pay.

Though appreciative, Po, 23, said he declined to accept the actor's kind offer. Instead, the digital invite app Partiful put up the money to pay off the fine.

In addition to their $500 gesture, Chalamet's people also relayed praise from the Dune star: "They basically [said], 'We thought it was awesome. Thanks so much,' " Po added. "It was all good and fun."

While Po didn't actually get to meet or see Chalamet at the event, he was included in Po's official ranking of lookalikes after the contest concluded. Despite being the real deal among dupes, the actor only came in around 13th place.

"I think if he would've stayed for the end of it, maybe I would've given him runner-up or something," Po told PEOPLE, adding that the star's mustache threw off his usual curly-haired, clean-shaven look sported by most contest entrants.

This isn't the first time Mitchell has gone viral for looking like Chalamet. Last year, he got a "Timothée Chalamet-inspired haircut" while living abroad in London. His hairdresser, TikToker Tobias Bell, posted footage of the makeover, and the video garnered over 1.2 million views.

Mitchell also recounted the experience of winning the competition on his YouTube channel, in a video titled, "How Winning the Timothee Chalamet Look-Alike Contest Changed My Life."

Aided by his thrifted Wonka outfit and the candy he tossed into the crowd at Washington Square Park, Mitchell clinched a victory that is already opening doors for the Seton Hall University student to become a social-media star.

"I was fortunate to meet so many YouTubers and content creators from this event, and I kind of really got inspired by a lot of them because they were telling me about their stories and how they became content creators and how cool of an industry it all is," he told PEOPLE, noting that Po has given him advice on how to navigate the space.

Since winning, Mitchell has heard from several brands about possibly working together, including "Shake Shack, Google and skincare brands like L'Oreal, GNC, NYX Cosmetics," he said.

Chalamet stars as Bob Dylan in his new film A Complete Unknown. The biopic is in theaters Dec. 18.
