TikToker shocks with 'disgusting' workout smoothie: 'Should be illegal'

Her secret ingredient left people scratching their heads.

A TikToker has gone viral after sharing a unique way of increasing her protein uptake. The Sydney-based content creator revealed she dislikes the texture of chicken, so she chooses to blend and drink it instead.

In a video that has been viewed over 613,000 times, she showed viewers how to create a boiled chicken, banana, strawberry and milk smoothie.

“How I make my chicken breast smoothie (for post-workout),” she wrote on the video, with the TikToker adding that she ‘hates chewing’ chicken breasts.

She began by chopping and boiling chicken breast, before cutting up some strawberries. After blending chicken breast with whole milk, she added a few strawberries and bananas to the mixture.

Once it was all blended up, she grabbed a straw and told viewers to drink the entire concoction to “bulk up”.

Horrified users were quick to comment on her video, asking why she wouldn’t just use protein powder or eat the chicken by itself.

“This combination should be illegal,” one person wrote.

“You CANNOT convince me this tastes better than just eating the chicken,” another added.

“I just fully gagged. Oh my god, this literally looks REVOLTING,” a third chimed in.

“You couldn’t pay me enough to have that. I feel ill,” another remarked.

While the concept of a chicken breast smoothie was new to many TikTokers, the content creator replied to multiple negative comments saying these types of smoothies are commonly sold in Thailand.

“I wanna have it this way…it doesn’t harm anyone. Don’t act like it’s a big problem,” she hit back.

Some people agreed with her, with another TikToker saying that the chicken wouldn’t have added any flavour.

“Chicken breast is used in desserts in Turkey, it gives absolutely no taste. Just a beautiful texture,” they pointed out.

“The people who judge don’t understand how hard it is to go into surplus and meet daily protein intakes,” another added.

“I was doubting this but then you put the banana in. God knows you can’t taste anything else once it’s in there,” remarked a third.

Hong Kong-born K-Pop star Jackson Wang and Baywatch star Zac Efron have previously spoken out about their experiences with blended chicken in past interviews.

While Zac told Conan O’Brien he drank a chicken blend to gain muscle for his role as a marine in The Lucky One, Jackson follows a similar smoothie recipe to the TikToker.

Using chicken breast, milk, spinach, orange, apple and banana, he simply blends it all together to ‘maintain nutrition and protein’ easily.

“I know it might sound disgusting, but it’s actually a good smoothie. I have it first thing when I wake up,” he told the Strategist.
