The Voice host Sonia Kruger's 'beautiful' strapless glittering dress sends fans wild

Last night was the callbacks on The Voice, which could only mean one thing; we finally got to see some new outfits from the host and judges.

And Sonia Kruger didn’t let us down in the fashion stakes, appearing onstage in a glittering strapless number, complete with dramatic pink feathers.

Gold Logie winner Sonia, who shimmied her way onto the stage in the form-fitting number, which she matched with a pair of perspex heels and impeccable makeup.

“The Callbacks.. Also known as new outfit night! 🤣 @thevoiceau 🎙️🎶” Sonia captioned a video from the show.

Fans of the reality show were delighted to see some new fashion grace our TVs last night, with one person writing: “Thank gov for new outfits, I was sooooooo getting sick of those clothes 😢 you think they’d change at half time.”

Others complimented Sonia on her sequined attire, with one person calling her look ‘stunning’.

‘Beautiful as always,” another person wrote.

Sonia wasn’t the only star in feathers on the night, with Jessica Mauboy causing a stir in a yellow gown with billowing feathered sleeves.

“Jess looks beautiful,” a fan wrote.

Sonia’s controversial Logies speech

Sonia’s The Voice gig comes after she took out the top spot at the Logie Awards last month, winning the prestigious Gold Logie on the night.

However, the moment was marred by controversy after she made a joke about fellow nominee Hamish Blake being ‘a little over’.

Writing in a recent column for Stellar magazine, Sonia called it a ‘car crash television’ moment.

“I tried to crack a few jokes that (in my head) were funny, but went down like a lead balloon with the equally exhausted audience,” she wrote.

“In that moment, I wanted a trapdoor to open up and drop me straight through it to a Chinese restaurant and a plate of san choy bow – which is my other happy place.

“After an out-of-body experience in which I witnessed myself being involved in a slow-motion car crash of television, I was taken backstage, a glass of champagne was handed to me and I was ushered into the afterparty.”

Speaking on KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren show the day after the Logies, Sonia revealed she had forgotten to bring her speech up to the stage with her.

“I had written something. It was in my bag so that didn’t help, so I kind of just had to wing it and my brain was so scrambled,” she said.

She went on to say that she had been up since 8am that morning, and as her name was being called, she was “dreaming about cheeseburgers and fries in my room”

“It’s great because we’ve all known each other for a long time and a lot of us have been around for a long time but also, you kind of want to impress them with something witty or funny and sometimes it doesn’t come off," she continued.

“I was making the joke about our agent, Hamish and I, and I think people took it seriously. It was an absolute joke and the agent found it funny, I hope Hamish did too. I must give him an apology email today.”
