Radio star's gag leaves The Project hosts in fits of laughter

They’re known for having banter on the panel and last night The Project hosts couldn’t stop laughing after finding one joke particularly funny.

Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar and Waleed Aly were seen roaring with laughter after radio star Fitzy appeared via video link on the show to promote his show, Coronavirus Australia: Our Story.

Fitzy, who had to be tested after coming into contact with Richard Wilkins before his diagnosis, was explaining to the hosts all about it when suddenly Peter Helliar interjected.

“Fitzy, did you ever think you would have to say, after I got tested after Richard Wilkins? Did you ever think you would have to say that?” Peter asked.

Immediately, Carrie Bickmore could be heard belly laughing in the background, with Waleed Aly following suit.

“Do you know what? That’s what I want to have on my tombstone when I go, Peter,” Fitzy responded jokingly.

Fitzy was laughing so hard that he asked the others to stop as he was making his computer screen wobble too much.

Meanwhile, Carrie Bickmore couldn’t even close the show she was so taken over by her fit of the giggles.

“In difficult times filled with hardship and uncertainty, it’s important to find the humour in some of the more absurd moments coming out of this pandemic! #inthistogether #loseittogether #theprojecttv,” The Project captioned the video on Twitter.

“That was brilliant to watch. Gotta love everyone losing it,” one fan wrote.

“Fantastic to share a giggle in the middle of all this blah at the moment,” another wrote.

Back in March, Kent “Smallzy” Small was forced to take the reigns of Fitzy and

Wippa’s Nova radio show after the pair went into isolation and tested for COVID-19 following their encounter with Richard Wilkins.

While it’s unclear exactly where he contracted the virus, Wilkins briefly met with Tom Hanks’ wife, Rita Wilson, when she made a guest appearance on Today Extra, just days before she tested positive for the coronavirus.
