The Bachelorette Australia: Did the stars find their happy endings?

All good things must come to an end and that time is now for The Bachelorette Australia. After disappointing ratings last year, Channel 10 has decided to rest the show.

In the wake of the axing, and with The Bachelor starting soon, let's take a look back at the show's stars, whether they stayed with the winners and where they are now.

Former The Bachelorette Australia stars Brooke Blurton with Darvid Garayeli; Sam Frost and her new partner Jordie Hansen; Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley; Becky Miles with new partner James Bevin and their daughter Billie; and Georgia Love and Lee Elliott

Sam Frost

The Bachelorette launched in Australia after we were all heartbroken at the way The Bachelor's Blake Garvey cruelly dumped Sam Frost after choosing her over runner-up Louise Pillidge.

We wanted Sam, 33, to get her happily ever after too, so she was the perfect contestant for Australia's first-ever Bachelorette.

She won our hearts and the heart of construction manager Sasha Mielczarek on the first season of the show in 2015 but the relationship only lasted 18 months.

Sam is now dating Survivor alum Jordie Hansen, 26, who she met through her younger brother, Alex Frost, who also competed on the show.

The couple may have only been together for five months but that's long enough for Sam to decide to move back to Melbourne and move in with Jordie.

Georgia Love

This is what we wanted to see in a Bachelorette couple. Former TV presenter Georgia Love found her partner on the show, and the pair has since gone through some tumultuous life events.

Early on in their relationship, Lee was Georgia's rock when her mother was sick with and passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Then finally in March last year, after a couple of Covid-postponements, they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on a vineyard in Tasmania.

Sophie Monk

Australia loves Sophie Monk for her combination of bombshell beauty and down-to-earth charm, so we were all behind her in her search for love.

Stu seemed perfect for Sophie. They'd crossed paths about a year before the show and sensed a spark so decided to see if there was something more to their connection.

There was definitely enough for Sophie to choose the heir to a multi-million dollar hospitality empire but it was not to be. Six months after the show finished, so were they.

But Sophie has found her happy ending after meeting Joshua Gross on a flight in 2008. The couple became engaged in January 2021 and married in April this year.

Ali Oetjen

When Ali chose Taite over runner-up Todd King in 2018 she told him: "I'm willing to risk it all because I'm so in love with you." And it seemed that this couple was about to get their romantic ending. However, after two years of dating the couple posted near-identical statements on their Instagram accounts to announce their split.

In February this year, Ali admitted that she hasn't dated anyone since Taite, explaining to a fan: "Ever since The Bachelorette I haven't looked. 'Looking' indicates there's a need to find a man and when there's a need it creates resistance to what you need as it infers there's a 'lack' in that area."

"Be the woman you love, live the life you love, and you'll attract love and a man that will complement your life," she added.

Angie Kent

Angie Kent had built quite a following after starring in the reality show Gogglebox, so she was a great choice of Bachelorette in 2019. And while it seemed that Angie and Carlin hit it off from the outset, the chemistry just wasn't enough for this couple to go the distance.

While Angie remains single, she did have a bit of a reaction to the news that The Bachelorette wouldn't be back this year.

"Sad times that we won’t be seeing quality entertainment from leading ladies for the franchise this year. Just bulk lead pork swords all round," she wrote on Instagram (and that's why we love her).

Elly and Becky Miles

After appearing on Matt Agnew's season of The Bachelor, nurse Elly Miles returned to TV last year with her older sister Becky by her side as the first-ever double dating Bachelorettes. Despite both of them supposedly finding love in the show - Elly with Frazer Neate and Becky with Pete Mannm - the couples didn't seem to possess the genuine chemistry of other pairs from the reality franchise.

Sure enough, Becky confirmed that Pete had dumped her just three days after she gave him her final rose. For Elly, romance was on the cards for a little longer, but she and Frazer split in December 2020.

While Elly, 26, appears to be single, her sister Becky, 31, has found love with Australian Air Force air traffic controller James Bevin and the couple are new parents to daughter Billie.

Brooke Burton

Last year, Brooke, 27, was the first bisexual and indigenous Bachelorette.

The proud Noongar-Yamatji woman was one of the contestants in Nick Cummins' season of The Bachelor and while she enjoyed dates with both men and women on her season, she ultimately chose landscape gardener Darvid Garayeli to try and make a go of things.

Sadly their relationship only lasted three months but that hasn't stopped Brooke from looking for love.

"Still a hopeless romantic but still hopeless at dating," reads her Instagram bio.
