Sydney Sweeney Clapped Back at Body-Shamers in the Most Iconic Way

For Sydney Sweeney, the haters are her fuel. On Friday, the actress clapped back at body critics in the most iconic way after she was photographed wearing a bikini outside her Florida Keys home and received a slew of hurtful comments in response to her appearance. 

In a video posted to Instagram, Sweeney included dozens of screenshots of people's mean words. "Nothing to see here other than an average chunky Yankee girl," one read, while another declared her an "Ozempic candidate." The criticism was then followed up by a montage of intense workout footage of Sweeney in the gym, preparing for her role as Christy Martin in the upcoming biopic about the former professional boxer. 

The highlight reel showed the Euphoria star flipping tires, lifting weights, and boxing both inside and outside the ring. Sweeney reposted the video to her Instagram Story and wrote: “Christy Martin Strong 💪 💪 🥊." 

Back in October, Sweeney announced that she was cast to portray Martin in the untitled project. “Well, the cats out of the bag … so here’s a little BTS from my film I’m working on right now,” she wrote via Instagram. “Over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring.”

Sweeney added, “Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. More to come soon.”
