'Wonder Woman' Lynda Carter Teams Up With Ryan Reynolds' 'Deadpool' in Hilarious Video
Lynda Carter and Ryan Reynolds recently revived their popular superhero characters for a short holiday-themed video aimed at raising money for a good cause.
Reynolds, who has starred in the Deadpool movie franchise since 2016, wore the suit of his title character in the video, which he posted on Instagram on Thursday, Dec. 12. The video began with a view of him walking into frame as if he had just completed a mission while Kidpool, another character from the Deadpool movies, sat on a sleigh that appeared to be positioned on a rooftop.

When Kidpool asked what Reynolds thought they should do next, the 48-year-old actor answered as his character, saying, “Well, I thought we’d eliminate sick kids.” After talking through a brief misunderstanding, Reynolds clarified, “We’re eliminating the sickness by encouraging people to donate.” He then noted that they would “need some help, because you and I are technically R-rated, and these are kids—sick kids.”
It was then that Carter, who played the title character in the popular 1970s TV series Wonder Woman, suddenly appeared in a burst of light. “Did someone call for help?” she asked.
Following dual exclamations over the 73-year-old actress’ arrival, Reynolds explained that they needed her to transform into her Wonder Woman character to help them with their next mission. Though Carter tried to do so, she ran into some trouble in the process, finding herself suddenly wearing an ugly Christmas sweater instead of her Wonder Woman costume.
“Who did this?” she asked, looking down in confusion at the outfit.
“The DC lawyers. I knew it,” Reynolds quipped.
Once the skit was over, the video showed a short type-written message urging viewers to donate to SickKids Hospital, a pediatric teaching hospital located in Toronto, Ontario.
“Donate to SickKids Hospital before Dec-25,” the message read. It added that Reynolds and his wife, fellow actress Blake Lively, “will match donations up to $500,000.”
