Surprising truth about The Bachelors' Tash and her famous ex-fiancé

Tash Candyce has plenty of links to the reality TV world.

She’s arguably one of the most controversial contestants on this year’s season of The Bachelors, but it turns out Tash Candyce isn’t new to the world of reality TV.

The 31-year-old real estate agent, who is competing for Jed McIntosh’s heart on the dating show, appeared on First Dates in 2017 and was even set to star in the sixth season of Married At First Sight before pulling out at the last minute.

Tash also revealed to Jed during Tuesday night’s episode of the show that she was previously engaged to another famous Bachelor star.

During a heart-to-heart, she confessed: “I was with another Bachelor. We were engaged and it didn't work out.”

Although she didn’t name her famous ex, Tash appeared to be talking about Michael Turnbull, who found fame on Sam Frost’s season of The Bachelorette in 2015 before then appearing on Bachelor In Paradise in 2018.

The couple went public with their romance in September 2018 and announced their engagement just two months later.

However, there’s much more to their former relationship than has previously been reported - and it's connected to two reality shows.

“Tash and Michael were on and off for a while but when he wrapped Paradise and didn’t find anyone, he decided to give things another go once he got home,” a friend of Tash’s tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

“But at the same time, Tash had just been accepted as a contestant on Married At First Sight. She was then seeing Michael and doing pre-production for MAFS with no idea what to do - until he convinced her to drop out a week before she was meant to film her wedding.

“Producers were furious as she was initially cast as that season’s controversial villain, before Jessika Power was then brought in last minute.”

'She is made for reality TV'

Tash and Michael then split in February 2019, before the season of Married At First Sight she was meant to be on had even finished airing on TV.

“As far as Tash is concerned she gave up her big break for a guy that was never that serious about her,” her friend continues. “Married At First Sight would have changed her life and she’s been trying to get on another show since. She is made for reality TV and is pure gold.”

As well as Michael Turnbull, Tash was also briefly engaged to Agostino ‘Aggi’ Guardiani from Elly and Becky Miles’ season of The Bachelorette.
