Sunrise's Nat Barr disappears mysteriously from show: 'What the hell'
The host was at the desk at 8:00 and gone by 8:01.
Sunrise viewers were left surprised on Tuesday morning when Nat Barr suddenly disappeared from screens and was replaced by Monique Wright. The host seemingly snuck out of the Sunrise studio while her co-host David 'Kochie' Koch was reading the 8am bulletin.
When cameras returned to the hosts at 8:01am and the voiceover welcomed Kochie and Nat back, Monique was sitting in the co-host chair as though she'd been there the whole time.
"Good morning! Back now for our 8am hour on Sunrise. Thanks so much for joining us," Monique said with a big smile as Kochie looked on in surprise.

"What the hell are you doing here?" he asked, seemingly perplexed as the rest of the panel laughed.
"Nat just scurried out and I happened to have been under the couch," Monique joked.
Kochie then explained that Nat was forced to leave the show as she scored a last minute "exclusive interview" and had to leave to catch a flight.
"She's dashing to the airport as we speak. We'll bring that to you tomorrow," he told viewers. "In the meantime, Monique is in the chair for the rest of this morning."
One viewer on Twitter guessed the interview might be with Harry Styles, who is currently in the Queensland for his Love on Tour concert.
Seven's 'major' announcement
It comes after Channel Seven made a ‘major announcement’ about the future of the show, revealing a new face is joining the morning show team.
Queensland reporter Georgie Chumley will be joining Nat and Kochie as a reporter and will keep audiences updated on everything from the Sunshine State, starting this week.
"It’s such a privilege to tell Queenslanders’ stories and I’m so excited to get the opportunity to share them with the rest of the country. I’ve grown up here and watched Brisbane shift from a big country town to a thriving city," Georgie told 7News.
"We have so much to offer and with so many Sydneysiders and Victorians moving here … the rest of Australia is now catching on. I can’t wait to see you on Sunrise!"
The announcement comes just days after New Idea speculated that media personality Chris Brown’s move to the channel was part of a grand plan for him to replace Kochie.

"Chris would be wanting the ‘holy grail’ of plum roles — which has to be Kochie’s Sunrise gig!" the source said.
"Chris could become fill-in host until the time comes to make it permanent. Can you imagine how great he and Nat [Barr] would be together on screen?!"
However, 66-year-old Kochie has been a staple on the Sunrise couch for the past 20 years and recently signed a new deal with the channel.
