Looks Like We Won't Have Storm Reid To Get Zendaya In Check On "Euphoria" Anymore, Because She Won't Be Returning For Season 3

Storm Reid has officially announced she will not be returning to Euphoria for Season 3.

The Emmy Award-winning actor starred as Gia Bennett, the younger sister of Zendaya's character Rue Bennett, in the controversial high school drama.

The hit HBO series has been on hiatus since Season 2 aired back in 2022, after reports claimed the set was a toxic work environment. Season 3's development delay continued in 2023 after the writers' and actors' strike, and the untimely deaths of star Angus Cloud (who played Fezco on the show) and executive producer Kevin Turen.

This was all followed by an alleged dispute between showrunner Sam Levinson and Zendaya, as well as, reports from Variety stating HBO was dissatisfied with his scripts.

But despite the alleged drama and several cast members sharing their thoughts on returning, it was announced in July 2024 that production for Season 3 would resume in January 2025 and the entire main cast would be coming back.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. According to a recent interview with TMZ, Storm revealed she will not be reprising her role in the hit series.

“I’m not, but I’m so excited to watch it, I can’t wait,” Storm said.

But she had nothing but good things to say about her time on set when she opened up about what she'll miss most: “Just being with the whole crew and cast has been such an amazing experience, and I’m forever indebted to the show. I’ll miss them. I’ll miss hanging out with them, but it’s going to be a good season, and I can’t wait to watch.”

As for why she's exiting the show, Storm cited scheduling as the reason. "I got stuff going on," she added. "I'm about to get my degree and graduate from USC, producing [with her production company A Seed & Wings]...so, you know, schedules can't just align sometimes. It's a scheduling thing."

Storm reassured everyone that she'll still be tuning in every Sunday and is really excited to see what will become of the third season.
