'So inappropriate!' Stepmother of the bride shocks with wedding outfit
A Reddit user has taken to the website to share her shock after seeing a photo of a couple at a wedding.
At first the poster thought the couple were the bride and groom due to the woman's dress, which appeared to be a wedding dress, until they later realised it was the father and stepmother of the bride.
They took to the Wedding Shaming sub-reddit and wrote, "Thought this was the bride and groom at first - nope. Father and stepmother of the bride, wearing a white-ish, beaded gown with a train."
Comments quickly flooded the post, with some saying they actually really loved the dress.
"Oh crap, I love that dress though," one user wrote with the original poster responded, "I agree! Very pretty dress, just not appropriate for a wedding if you’re not the bride IMO."
She added that the stepmum had posted it on Facebook, "Probably a 'look at ME!!!' style post," with many agreeing that the stepmum was an "attention-seeker".
Another user commented, "I feel like there are so many easier ways to scream 'Pay attention to MEEEEEE!!!!' that don’t instantly make you look like the a**hole."

Someone else wrote, "Damn I feel like this was probably a fancier dress than the bride wore. If a bride saw this outfit and approved it beforehand then they are a saint."
"The bride wore an off-the-shoulder ball gown with minimal lace and no beading - it was super pretty. So yeah, the step mom’s dress was more ornate and detailed due to the lace, beading, and sparkles," the poster responded.
"I would be LIVID especially if it’s not even her mother (I’d still be upset though)," another user added.
"Love the dress but sooo inappropriate. Some people! [Shaking my head]," someone else commented.
Another said, "That is a more 'bridal' dress than many I've seen!! That is incredibly inappropriate!!! The only thing worse might be if she took off the capelet and flaunted her boobs all over the place during the reception. Then again maybe she did ..."
Others suggested they'd kick her out if it was their wedding, one suggested that the bride should have recruited a friend to 'accidentally' spill wine on the dress.
