"The squidies back in person!" LeAnn smiles in the clip as Mai beams, "You guys look gorgeous after almost a year!"

"I know it's crazy to think it's been a year," Sam replies before Trey wishes everyone, "Happy squid-a-versary, everybody!"

After exchanging pleasantries, the group gets down to business as they start with the first game of the day, Red Light, Green Light. As they choose and customize their virtual avatars, the five dive into the deadly game.

"I'm gonna kick some butt," Mai excitedly declares while Sam adds, "I am ready to unleash chaos."

Sure enough, the five go off running towards the finish line. Though they all advanced in the actual game, the mobile adaptation still proved challenging. LeAnn, Mai and Dash all groan when they're eliminated for moving after the giant doll, Young-hee, calls red light.

Sam ends up taking home the money and says excitedly, "Oh no, I'm going to be addicted to playing it."

"I was much better at it in real life," LeAnn jokes of playing the game, which she describes as "fun, colorful and treacherous."

"I think it's really cool. Some are direct inspirations, like Red Light, Green Light," Trey adds. "So it's very cool how they've adapted the games that my mom and I played on the show into the game that everybody else can play."

While LeAnn admits she doesn't know if she's "meant to play video games" as a 67-year-old woman, she notes that she probably would have beaten her son if she had "20 years of practice" under her belt like Trey.

"I didn't even get past any stage without dying, time and time again. I play word games," she laughs.

Squid Game and its reality competition spinoff, Squid Game: The Challenge, are streaming on Netflix.
